- Pauses automatic operation after the commands of that block finish; resume with the start button
- Whether the spindle and coolant stop depends on the machine builder (Siemens ISO)
- Used for stops to measure or to clear chips
- Most M-codes are assigned by the machine builder (Siemens ISO: M00–M89 are defined by the machine tool builder). Always check the machine's operator's manual
