Standard: Composition and products are specified by ASTM B435 (plate and strip), ASTM B572 (rod and bar), AMS 5536 (plate and strip), AMS 5754 (bar and forgings), etc..
🌐JIS and international equivalents
“Close” means composition or properties are not exactly the same. Before substituting, check the values in each standard.

Differences between the equivalents (from the sources)
- JIS NW6002: The Nippon Yakin Kogyo catalog matches NASHX to JIS G 4902 NW6002, ASTM B435 UNS N06002 and AMS 5536, and its composition table lists both NW6002 and UNS N06002. The only difference is that NW6002 has a B ≤0.010 requirement. That JIS G 4902:2019 merged the former JIS H 4551 was seen in JSA material search results, but the JSA site could not be reached during the survey, so this was not confirmed in the standard text. The JIS standard for bar has not been confirmed
- EN NiCr22Fe18Mo: Haynes (DIN 17742 No. 2.4665, NiCr22Fe18Mo) and Special Metals (W.Nr 2.4665, DIN NiCr22Fe18Mo) agree. The EN composition range has not been checked
- GB : A corresponding Chinese grade (information suggests GH3536) could not be confirmed in primary sources

Specifications called up on purchase orders and drawings. AMS are SAE aerospace material specifications, split by product form (bar, plate, forging), melting practice and heat treatment. Standard texts are paid, so only titles and scopes checked on the publishers’ public pages are shown.

🔧Machinability notes (as stated in the sources)
- Special Metals recommends machining in the annealed condition with carbide or high-speed steel tools and plenty of sulfur-free cutting fluid. Tools and machines should be as rigid as possible to limit deflection and vibration. Cutting speeds and feeds are about the same as for NIMONIC alloy 75[2]
- Haynes' machining and welding brochure gives, as a general guide for nickel-base and iron-base corrosion- and high-temperature-resistant alloys, turning with carbide tools (C-2/C-3 grades) at 30–50 sfm (about 9–15 m/min) for rough cuts with strong interruption, 90 sfm (about 27 m/min) for normal roughing, and 95–110 sfm (about 29–34 m/min) for finishing[8]
- Nippon Yakin Kogyo states that machining forces required are greater than for ordinary austenitic stainless steels (a statement about plastic working)[3]
- Sandvik Coromant says that ISO S heat-resistant superalloys are tough and prone to built-up edge, work-harden, have poor thermal conductivity so temperatures run high, and show notch wear at the maximum depth of cut position[4]
